Life is Good ...

Howdy all!! I can not believe it is almost the end of another month!!! Where does the time go!?!?!?  So thought I'd better just pop in to share some birthday cards I made for my2angels!

Now for some reason I love working with green papers!! It crops up in my creations ALL the time!!! And green spots like these are one of my absolute favourites!

This card has been made using Core-dinations Snowflake cardstock and Pink Paislee Hometown, Green Acres paper, both sides of this paper are great, I used the spotted side on my August sketch layout.  I’ve added one of the Summer Border Stickers with Glitter (flags) and some Punch Outs (which are now unfortunately out of stock), a cute boy on a skateboard and the journaling tag. I mounted the boy punch out on black cardstock and used Foam Mounting Tape to raise it off the card. I again used Tim Holtz Tea Dye ink around the edges of my papers and the white card. I finished off with a Bo Bunny ‘Life is Good’ sticker for my greeting.

My second card is a bright red card using more of the Pink Paislee Hometown Summer range, this time Heatwave. This is also a real ‘happy’ paper, perfect for birthday cards and layouts!
I punched the edge of my card, made using Core-dinations Snowflake cardstock, I then cut the Heatwave paper to fit and again punched the edge of it to match my card. I cut my paper to leave some white showing on both sides of the card and then added a ‘watermelon’ border from the PP Hometown Summer Border Stickers with Glitter. However, I then covered the middles of the watermelons with ‘asterisks’ from the Black AC Thickers Daiquiri alpha and added a Bo Bunny Ad Lib Leaf sticker.
The greeting is a small sticker stuck on with Foam Mounting Tape to which I have added a My2Angels Rainbows with Cloud charm above and a rub on ‘To You’ below. I used a black pen to ‘stitch’ around the edges of the patterned paper on both sides.

Inside the card, I added a slim strip of the Heatwave paper and a small circle sticker and again pen ‘stitched’ around it.

Well that's all for now, have a great weekend (I am thinking that I am going to have a great one!?!)
Back soon

'Angelic' Birthday Celebrations ...

Well sorry to say I have been MIA again, haven't I?!?!? There just doesn't seem to be enough time in the day these days, so unfortunately my 'me' time gets put on hold!! Think we all know that scenario don't we?!?!
Oh well enough excuses .... this month is 'Birthday' month at My2Angels, the lovely Tracy has been trading for 3 years this month (Happy Birthday T!) and she wanted to celebrate with her customers. So for August there are some super specials on in the shop, check them out HERE (discounted papers, birthday theme products etc etc)  plus we are also running a couple of comps, a SKETCH COMPETITION ... and a SHOW US YOUR CHARM challenge, so without further ado here is my take on the great sketch supplied by my fellow DT-er Jess.
Of course, still running with the Birthday theme, I scrapped a photo of my oldest son's very FIRST Birthday Party!!! Cute eh?!?!?! AND nearly 14 years ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yikes where does the time go?!?!?!?!?
I have used some papers I have had for a while and ABSOLUTELY love, Bo Bunny’s Ad Lib range, which are just such ‘happy’ papers ... do check out what Tracy has left in and snap them up, you won’t be sorry. I have also used some of the stickers from the same range for my little words and word strips.  I’ve added a Boy with Cap charm on one of my word strips.
The green spotted paper (love spotted papers) is Pink Paislee’s Hometown, Summer Green Acres and the oval border strip is from the same range, Border Stickers with glitter. Tim Holtz Tea Dye ink has been used to edge my papers and the pin is a My2Angels original, Grunge Date Pins, which I have covered with a circle sticker and a word sticker, ‘wonder’.

Other alphas used are my favourite AC Thickers Daiquiri in both Black and Green. The green bracket and letters I have used have been glossed with some Inkssentials Glossy Accents.  I also used this to highlight a few other things,  the ‘o’ in wonder, the camera on my word strips, the candle, the letters ‘st’ and the flowers on the BB paper. To finish I doodled around the scalloped edge of my white background.

So why don't you have a go and then upload your takes to the My2Angels gallery (the sketch must use some products available from M2A of course and its only open to Aus residents ... sorry!)

Thanks for looking .... be back later in the month with some Birthday Cards!!
Take care in this crazy world

Awesome Day ...

This is a layout I've done for My2Angels using Bo Bunny Ad Lib!
Very bright funky papers, which suited my beach photos perfectly!

I started, as I often do, with a white cardstock background, which I have then ‘paint stamped’ blue and green circles all over, using a piece of packaging tube!! Cool eh?!?  I’ve then used the Ab Lib Wild Thing paper for the large piece of my background and added 2 circles of the Vertigo. I inked all the edges with VersaMagic Jumbo Java and then dot stitched along some of the stripes on the circles.
I’m so into stitching at the moment, real and fake!!!

I also used a lot of 3d tape on this LO, even the main piece of Wild Thing is stuck on with 3d tape!

All the little stickers from the Combo Alpha Stickers have been stuck onto some black board to make them stand out too.  For the title I’ve used a piece of the reverse pattern of the Vertigo paper and I’ve used the aqua stickers from the Combo Alpha Stickers and some Thickers Daiquiri in my NEW favourite colour, green!!!!

Seeing as we did lots of bike riding on this day (and I had the sore behind to prove it!!)  I have added a My2Angels Bike charm on a smaller circle of the Vertigo paper and added various words using Carolees Creations Tiny Etched Natural Alpha Stickers and some old rub-ons that I found in my stash.

Some outlining of the words and more dots and I was done!  I absolutely love these papers!

Thanks so much for looking and for any comments you leave . . . I really, really do appreciate them xoxox

Back with more soon!

Anzac Day

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning

Wedding Card . . .

Just a quick post to share this wedding card I made for a friend.

I've had this flower punch forever, I actually have a large one, medium one and this small one, Corrina and I bought them from a craft show around 4 years ago! Before I developed my die addiction!!!!
But I have recently been inspired to use it again thanks to the very talented Melinda whose work I just LOVE!

A close up of the flower detail!

Thanks for popping in ... hope you are having a great Easter weekend!!

Meeting the locals ...

I have been playing with the gorgeous Pink Paislee Hometown Summer Range, and for anyone who read my previous post .... YES I am so loving green and white at the moment!
Here is my Take 2 on this awesome colour combination!
I started off with some Snowflake cardstock and then used both sides of the Green Acres paper for my background. I sanded the edges of both the papers and then mounted the smaller piece on to some cardboard to lift it off the page.  I then added my photos (of the very cute little Quokkas) and then grabbed the PP Hometown Summer accessories.
The banner is from the Border Stickers with Glitter which has some awesome patterns in it, and so easy because they are already made for you!! you gotta love that!!
I also used the cloud, sun, ‘Summer’ circle, Beautiful Day tag and the brown journaling tag from the Punch Outs. Again a great easy way to finish your layout!
The alphas are from the awesome Echo Park For the Record Alpha Cardstock stickers, for QUOKKA, ROTTO, the date and tab stickers. The rest of the aphas are Thickers Daiquiri, which I have now discovered in Green, very nice! and a change from my usual black! Oh and some Jenni Bowlin Tiny Circle Alphas.

Now a small confession, I stuffed up on my cloud! When I decided to outline the ‘locals’ with black pen (not my brightest decision considering everything else was finished!!!!) I managed to get pen all  over my hand and consequently all over my cloud L SO I ended up having to paint it! When it was dry I embossed it with white embossing powder and then added a little blue embossing around the edges to make it look like the original punch out! And ta da!!! stuff up fixed!
Don't forget to go check out this range and all the gorgeous Bo Bunny ranges at My2Angels HERE!
Back with some Bo Bunny projects real soon!
Thanks for looking, I hope you all have a lovely Easter! with not TOO much chocolate!! Y

Good Luck ...

Well I was going to share a LO tonight but when I just checked the photos I took earlier in the day I couldn't use them! (wonky and when you crop them it looks like everything is not straight!!) so I will have to take some more tomorrow and post it then.

So instead I am going to share a couple more cards!
The first one was for Ash, my hairdresser, who has decided to give up hairdressing, sob :( sob :( and have a change of career ... so no more cutting my hair!!! Don't know about you but I hate changing hairdressers!! Grrrr!! That said I wish Ash all the luck in the world! Y
Next a birthday card ... just because and again using my favourite scallop die ... do you think I'm addicted to this die LOL?!?!?! I just love it!!! oh and twine too ... I can't get enough of that either!!
Lastly a sneaky of my LO which I promise to share tomorrow! Using one of these (click on link to see!) from my2angels ... very cool! I think I'll be using a few more of these!!
Thanks for popping by, I'll see you again tomorrow ...
Hope you're having a great weekend! Can't believe its Easter next weekend!
Where is this year going!?!? Y

Pretty in pink ...

I still have the card bug!!! although I am working on a LO at the moment but I was too tired tonight to sit at my desk (busy week!) so I decided to veg on the sofa, watch the footy and blog instead!!
This card was inspired by a technique I have seen the incredibly talented Melinda use a few times, lots of punched flowers which give an embossed effect .... very happy with how it turned out.

I made the little tag to go with it too ... ultra cute don't you think?!!?!?

and a couple of photos from our weekend ... great time, great company ... and I got some great photos I can't wait to scrap .. I just have to get to the shops to get them developed!!

and of course the locals!!! Very cute!!!

Thats all for tonight .... heading off to bed now, catch you again soon
Thanks as always for looking and for any blog love you leave, I really do appreciate it Y

Final card share for March ...

I am just lovin these scallops!!! can't get enough of them! Here I have used the negative.
(my apologies the colours are not too hot on this one - the paper is a chocolate brown colour!)
They are so versatile ... even for a boys card again using the negative of the die!
and for a 12 year old Adelaide fan I used a ZIP punch!
I do have a couple more to share but I didn't get photos taken so they will have to wait till next time!
Almost forgot check out the new Pink Paislee just arrived at my2angels .. gorgeous!!
TFL .... catch you next month! Y

Life savers ...

A day late but as promised my latest layout using Echo Park ‘For the Record’ ...
These photos are my son and his friend on a ‘school’ swimming lesson, learning life saving at the beach ... nice way to spend a morning eh?!?!
Again using the black and white patterns I’ve  started with some White and Black cardstock as a background and added pieces of ‘Newsprint’ and ‘Advertisement’. I then added my 3 (yes 3!!) photos and machine stitched them to the page.

Like my neat stitching!!!!

Of course I just had to put a photo of the famous Indiana’s Tea House clock on my LO!!
The alphas and the word stickers, again, are from the FABULOUS Alpha Cardstock stickers so is the spiral border sticker I have used. The photo corners and date sticker are from the Element Stickers sheet  and the black phrases are from the Noteworthy sheet.

Don't forget to check out all the new stock being uploaded daily at My2Angels.

Thanks for looking, appreciate you stopping by Y

Catch Up ...

Happy weekend! I am a little behind with my DT blogging this week .... had a few things on which have eaten into 'my' time so here are some cards for My2Angels using the gorgeous EP For the Record papers!

First  ...
Using white cardstock, I cut my card out of my favourite card die! but this shape could be traced using scalloped paper or cardstock. Or you could just as easily use a normal shaped card.
Choose your papers - the Echo Park For the Record range of papers have some great papers that have four 6x6 patterns on one side and a full pattern on the other ... the 6x6 patterns are excellent for cards as the size of the patterns are slightly smaller. I love using 6x6 papers when I am card making and Tracy has a gorgeous Webster’s Pages Spring Market Yacht Club & Country Estate 6x6 pad in the store, which you really should check out, awesome value for 36 double sided papers.

Oops I got a bit sidetracked there ... Back to the card LOL – I’ve used ‘Picket Fence’ and  ‘Vintage Linen’ for my red and black papers and a border from the ‘Borders’ sheet.  Then using good old eyelets (we all still have some of those!! Right?!?) and some Charcoal Bakers Twine I made 3 pennant/flag shapes! In the middle of each pennant, I used some letters from the ‘Alpha Cardstock Stickers’ to spell out, YOU. I finished by using some more of the alphas to make JUST FOR (love this red alpha) and ‘hand stitched’ around it in black pen! and Voila! First card is finished!

next ...
more white cardstock but this time with the green pattern on the ‘Vintage Linen’ paper and a strip of  the ‘Newsprint’ paper across the middle of the card.
The loopy border is from the ‘Alpha Cardstock Stickers’ and so is the ‘Celebrate’ sticker , which I have mounted on board and covered with Dimensional Magic to make it super glossy.
The circle is a cardstock circle, which I have covered in Charcoal Bakers Twine and mounted onto another die cut fancy circle. I have to say these Bakers Twines are seriously cool ...
I LOVE them!!

and, AND you must check out the new Bo Bunny papers which My2Angels have just got in stock ... I am SO choosing some Ad Lib for my next projects!!! Check this die cut out ... very yummy!!!!

I also have a layout to share but will try and post that over the weekend ...
so till then TFL and for all your lovely comments Y
Cheers
