... and a post to end the year!!

Its been a while I know (!), this working more hours sure interferes with your scrapping time!!!
Anyway a few LO's to close out 2009 ....
Firstly a page that has been 2 months in the making!!!! love how is ended up though ...

and some close ups ....

Aren't the Scrapware lace heart, key and holly leaves gorgeous?! Also check out their ning site here.

Next a sketch challenge for Scrapbook Savvy ....

and lastly a sketch challenge at Anna's Craft Cupboard .....

OK the photo of this one is not too hot as I had to hang it on the pool fence to get some decent light!!
The photos are intentionally blurred though, as I didn't use flash so as to get the full effect of the tree lights!

Well that's it! so till next year .... thank you to everyone for looking ... at any time over the last few months!! Unfortunately the last couple of months have been a bit of a blur with very little time for scrapping for me, however I do hope to be a little more productive in 2010, so please check back every now and again!
With very best wishes, W x

Trying to catch Up ...

I have been going through some of my photos and doing some back tracking with my scrapping (don’t think I will ever catch up – I take way too many photos for that!! Lol!!) ... I was obviously inspired though as I now have 3 LO's to share!!!
The 1st photo was taken a couple of years ago ... but because I have only scrapped it now I've reflected on how much my son has changed and that I can’t believe he is .... about to turn 13!!!!!  I have used Bazzill, Sassafrass pp, Prima & Adorn It alphas. The great cogs are ScrapFX.

Next up is a very old photo!! This one was actually taken nearly 13 years ago! Isn’t he just adorable I so love this photo.

I have used Bazzill bling and some Prima pearls on this and kept it simple.
Lastly I came across another black and white photo (just love em!) which I just had to scrap! this is my other sleeping 'baby'

Phew impressed myself with this lot!!! must go do some more!
........ till next time and thanks for looking! x

13's footy training .....

Here is another one for the weekend, I think I must on a bit of a roll!! (housework??? whats that then?!?!?!?) LOL!
This is one I started quite a while ago but didn't get finished, its my DS and his footy team getting ready to do sprints at a training session on Coogee Beach back in early March ... and although I have to admit I am missing the footy season already ... I am really looking forward to the sunny days ahead! That beach looks sooo good and I am sooo over winter!!
I have used Bazzill (basic & bling), Basic Grey paper, an A4 sheet of mesh and lots of stitching. The title is a combination of die cut fonts and some Adorn It mini letters.

........ till next time and thanks for looking!

Practice makes Perfect .....

OK so earlier this week I decided to do some blog hopping on the lookout for some inspiration, or a challenge, to give my mojo a kick start!! On my travels I found the September sketch challenge over at Anna's Craft Cupboard, and decided to give it a go. You can check out Anna's gallery here .....

I have used Sassafrass and Prima papers, and the line of music notes I have done with thread and brads ... cool eh!? It took a little while but I'm really happy with the way it turned out!

Two posts in one week ... not bad for me!! LOL! Hopefully I'm on a roll?!?!?
........till next time and thanks for looking!

School Sports Carnival .....

Hi, just a quick share tonight .... I finished this page last week after the conclusion of our rain interrupted school sports carnival. The high jump comp actually took place a couple of weeks or so before the main carnival, so the photos are a combination of photos from the various days of activities!!!

My ds did really well in the high jump, jumping a PB of 1.016m and he also picked up some ribbons in the team events. BUT unfortunately overall our house finished last!!! Ah well there is always next year!!! LOL!!

Going to try and post some more before the weekend .... till next time and thanks for looking!

Twiddleybitz competition!

To win an awesome Twiddleybitz pack, become a member of Twiddleybitz NINGand they  will  randomly pick out 3 prize winners. All you need to do is become a member by the 30th of September 2009 and post a link from your blog, telling all your friends about it.
I just did! now fingers crossed! x

At last a new post!!

Its been a while .... but at last another post!!! My mojo has seriously been MIA for a couple of weeks and if that wasn't enough I've not been feeling the best either, therefore not much action in the scrap room! and consequently a very neglected blog!!!!
But I did get this one done a week or so ago so thought I would share. Using Sassafras papers, a Quickutz alpha and die cuts, Scrapware fence and Bazzill blossoms along with other stash supplies I came up with this beachy number ....

I have scrapped the bottom photo before but I have done it again for another album ... its one of my favourites!! The boys had so much fun on the beach that evening whilst their big brothers were footy training but as you can see not a lot of training going on here!!!
Anyway I will try and post again soon! .... till next time and thanks for looking!

Challenge Page plus ....

Thought it was about time that I made a small contribution to this blog! I have been absent for a few days,  what with Fathers Day, a birthday (more cards to make) and finals footy to watch I'm not sure where the weekend went! lol!!
I did manage to finish though (just!) the Blind Scrap Challenge set by the girls over at SFTH. I did a LO using some ice skating photos I've had since a birthday party in March!!  ...... but after posting my LO in the SFTH gallery I decided to add a couple of things! Not because the page needed it, but because I had really really wanted to use some dies I had for these photos .... so to finish off I added a few little snowflakes!! I couldn't pass up the chance to use the dies on here .... they normally only get used for my Christmas cards!!
So here is my amended version ...

All supplies used were from my stash .... Basic Grey papers, Adorn It letters, QuicKutz font and snowflake dies, pearls (one of my favourite embellies!), buttons and a clear stamp set.

I hope you like ... till next time and thanks for looking!

Just a quick note ...

A little late tonight, I've been running around a little today (including lunch with a friend) so not had much time to sit down and chat. I have had a little play with my blog tonight though I have to admit ... moving things around and adding a couple of things here and there, its all good fun!
So seeing as its late I thought I would just add a LO I made a little while ago, showing my 'stash' just to prove I am a true scrap-a-holic, unfortunately with a stack of supplies (don't we just love to collect as well as scrap?! I know I do!) but with nowhere near enough time to actually scrap!! and having this blog is not helping me in that respect either ... but like I said I am having fun! :-)
........ so here is my Die 'Stash' (one of the photos from my blog header). Oh and my desk hardly ever looks likes this {tidy} infact I don't normally see much of my green mat at all!!

Main supplies:
Bazzill cardstock
Basic Grey Granola Papers
Melissa Frances Rub Ons
QuicKutz dies (of course!)
DCWV Chip Chatter alphabet letters - painted, embossed and inked
I've also mounted the photo on 3D tape and behind it are 'recipe cards' with a list of my fonts and dies.

Time for bed I think, I just wanted to add something for the day (I need the practice!) so .... till next time and thanks for looking! x

So now I have the bug ...

Well yesterday was my 1st post and as a great surprise to myself I am going to back it up with another post today! Guess this means I must have the blog bug!! I do admit I am feeling a little scrappy at the moment and I am therefore 'making hay while the sun shines' as it is not always so free flowing (the creativity that is!!) lol!!  Don't you find that sometimes it doesn't matter how long you look at that gorgeous piece of paper and cute embellishments it just doesn't 'happen'!  With this blog being new a) its like a new toy and you just have to play b) its just for me and c) I need to keep adding to it to make it look half decent for anyone who takes a look (and I hope there are a few of you out there otherwise I am just talking to myself!) so here goes for my next 'work of art' .... lol :-)

Yesterdays's work was of my oldest son so today it is my youngest son's turn, my precious and 'Adorable' baby (don't tell him I said that tho!) this was taken just before his 10th birthday when he was deep in concentration doing his homework at the computer (nah! not really .. he was playing a game!)
You will probably figure out before too long ... I have a real liking for black and white photos, sepia and colour altered photos. The Anzac Day photo to the side is one I did in tones of blue and I was really happy with the way it turned out. But I do love black and white .....
I have used a Sassafraslass paper I bought for the reverse side of it (never thought I would use this side) but I  love the brightness of the orange against the black (black being one of my very favourite colours).

Some of the other 'stuff' used, Bazzill swissdots, QuicKutz font and rub ons, Adorn It letters, Kaisercraft pearls and some gorgeous mini Scrapware Butterflies which I have glittermisted!

OK thats enough blah blah for today ... till next time and thanks for looking! x

First Post!

Well its taken a few days but I am about to do my 'first' post!
So here goes ......
Firstly let me introduce myself, my name is Wendy, I am married with 2 children (sounds like a TV show!!) both boys, 12 and 10, I work part time and in my spare time I just love to scrap! I also make all my birthday cards and most Christmas cards (as I normally leave it too late to make them all I end up buying the odd pack!) I owe getting into this hobby to my friend and 'partner in scrap', the lovely and talented Corrina, who had a home demonstration for card making back in 2001 and we have both been totally addicted since! Check out the beautiful birthday card Corrina made for me last week here whilst you are there check out the couple of layouts I have in their gallery too, here.
So for a little more of an 'outlet' I have started this blog to share some of my work, and exchange ideas with anyone who wants to join in, as my 3 boys 'just don't get it!' and a girl needs a little more encouragement for her work don't you think?!  Hence the name of my blog 'my creative outlet'!
So here is my first layout ... I made this last night for a challenge set by Jenae over at my local scrap store, Scrapbooks from the Heart. A colour challenge using primarily blue and orange, I love these colours together so I had no probs there! I also found the perfect photo for it in my stash! This is my oldest son in the playground at Kings Park the day before he went back to school in February 2008. I love photos where you catch them unaware and not looking at the camera, he was having a quiet moment (very rare!!) and he just looks so deep in thought! (Another rarity so maybe he was just having a rest as it was SO very hot that day!! lol!)

Anyway hope this was not too long a post and that I didn't bore you?! .... till next time and thanks for looking!
p.s more layouts to follow .... soon!
