For You!

Firstly to everyone in the state of Queensland who has been affected by the horrendous floods recently ... my heart goes out to you! I can not imagine what you must all be going through, the media reports have been absolutely unbelievable with so many families and businesses losing so much! I was pleased that 'the boss', Tracy at my2angels, was out of harms way and that my blogging buddy Mel, was also OK, although she was a little wet!!!! Big hugs Mel!! I am not sure of the location of a lot of my other blogging friends but I hope that you are ALL safe.

At my2angels this month, we are showcasing embellishments so I have put together some cards where I have made my own embellishments. The first card ‘For You’ is using some Core-dinations Raspberry (or similar colour) cardstock and some Prima Flights of Fancy ‘Ladybug’ paper.
First I trimmed the card with a border punch and then attached pieces of inked Prima paper, behind the punching and also on the front of the card. Before attaching the larger piece of paper I tied some ribbon around the card then tied it towards the top of the card. Next I cut out a label shape from the reverse of the paper, inked the edges and stuck it so that it was under where the ribbon was tied.

Next take your my2angels Circle Pendant and cut out a circle of the paper and apply your rub-on sentiment. Then stick this to the pendant and cover with Dimensional Magic. When dry position your flowers (I used two for depth) so that the pendant, when attached fits in the centre of the flower. Stick it down and tie a bow in your ribbon.
The effect of the glossy centre to the flower, really finishes it off.

Next ..... some flowers!!

Again using some Coredinations Raspberry, Snowflake & Kiwi (or similar) cardstocks. I have trimmed my Kiwi cardstock to fit inside the Raspberry card and then used a MS edge punch to form a lattice pattern. I have then attached this to the Snowflake card.  I used ribbon for my sentiment but you could easily change this for alpha stickers or a rub on. I have then used a pack of My2Angels Stemmed Star Flowers in Pink and made a bouquet out of them using again the Prima Flights of Fancy paper to 'wrap' them in.  I have added Pink Pearls to the centres of all the flowers and lightly Kindy Glitzed the petals.

I inked the Tattered Angels Rockin Renaissance Crepe Ribbon with the VersaMagic Jumbo Java Ink, folded it and tucked it behind my bouquet. I finished off by adding a couple of MS punched butterflies which I also gave a dose of Kindy Glitz (Crystalina) I used Dimensional Magic to stick the bouquet and the butterflies to the card. You could use any butterflies of your choice ...  to see some chipboard ones, check out the Scrapware Section in the shop.

Finally .... I made a Rosette!!

I love making cardstock cards, for a long time I didn’t use a lot of patterned papers at all, so going back to using just a little paper was pretty easy for me!

First take the Core-dinations Sutter Butter cardstock and cut out a square card, cut out a slightly smaller piece of the French Roast cardstock for the mat on the front of the card. I have then ‘stitched’ a border around the edge (it looked a little bare!) its actually white rub ons which I have then rubbed with VersaMagic Jumbo Java ink, the same effect could be done with a gel pen and a steady hand or you could stitch it for real! I have then used some Graphic 45 paper and cut out a couple of ‘borders’ one with an edge punch using the reverse of the paper and one a straight strip which I have mounted onto some of the French Roast. Ink all the edges with the Jumbo Java ink
The rosette was made by cutting out a 4cm strip of the paper, scoring it at 1cm intervals and then concertina folding it. I used 2 circles to hold it at the back and front and then added a rub on sentiment to the front circle, again rubbing it with the brown ink to tone down the white. I also inked the edges and the ridges of my rosette.

Stick the rosette on the card with some dimensional magic or other strong glue and you’re finished.

One point thought I think this is more ‘a give to someone card’  than ‘a post to someone card’ LOL .... as it is rather lumpy!!!

TFL (as always) ..... be back soon!

Calendar pages ...

I was sorting through some 'stuff' last night and came across my calendar for 2009 and thought it would be such a shame to throw all the 'mini pages' away! So I set about pulling it all apart, adding a couple of things and re-attaching the pages to 12x12 cardstocks so I could put them in my albums!
Here are the 3 pages I got done last night .....

March 2009 ..... pre-season football training at the beach
February 2009 .... Back to School
Thanks for looking .... I also got a couple of cards made too, but can't show those yet! soon though!!

Hard to think 2010 has gone even though it was a year of change for me ..... Really looking forward to another fun filled term on her Design Team!!

This year we welcome Geli Duncan, Jess MacKenzie, Lindy Gillespie & Lisa Webb to the team, Welcome Girls!!! Looking forward to working with you!!

Oh and whilst you are there check out Tracy's new Decorative Pins .... they are gorgeous!!  Here is one of my favs!!

Just a quick LO to share today ...... one I did last year (LOL!) using one of Tracy's Christmas embellishment tutorials last month .... I really really love this Bakers Twine!!!
I have used some Little Yellow Bicycle Christmas Delight Papers, ’ Tis the Season Stripe-Starry Night’ for the background and ‘Peppermint Mix-Frosty Mint Fa La La’ for the green panel.  I have wrapped some Bakers Twine ‘Maraschino Red & White’ around the green panel and tied on a My2Angels Christmas tree charm
Next I took a Scrapware Mini Fence (one of my absolute fav embellies!) and painted it using 'Ruby Red' Liquid Pearls, then I inked the top of the fence with white ink and added some Ranger White Embossing Puffs for some snow! I also inked and Crackle Accented a Scrapware Mini Holly and used the ‘Ruby Red’ Liquid Pearls for the berries.
My title and the snow flake are die cuts and I used Kindy Glitz on the letters and Diamond Dust on the snowflake! The ’10 for the date are Sassafras ‘Apple Jack’ Glitter Stickers.
For the red candy lollies I have used an idea Tracy put on the blog a couple of weeks ago, only I didn’t use the lollipop charms, I just used the Bakers Twine and some punched circles. The stems are some My2Angels Silver Acrylic Chain with Rhinestones .
So easy to make and yet so effective.

Thanks for looking!
Catch you again soon

Cards to share .....

I've been so busy, busy, lately that I have not had a lot of time for scrapping, not even time to do my shopping either (stress, stress!) but I have made a few cards ... not just Christmas cards (although I have made a few of those LOL!) but I also had a 'New' Home card to make for a friend who just moved back into her house after major renovations and I also have a few friends and family with birthdays in December!
Here is the Home card and one of the Birthday cards ...
Dusty Attic cloud .... My Little Bit of Whimsy Brick Button
... and how gorgeous is this ribbon?!?! and the Martha punch?!?!
These were both made with PP Bayberry Papers ... just love this range!!
I am going to be very sad when my little 6x6 pad of this runs out!!

Ok this is an ultra quick post, hoping to share a few more of my Christmas cards soon, when I have edited the photos etc.. so thanks for looking (as always) and to all my blogger friends who I have not visited for a while, I hope to be back to normal real soon, enjoy your weekend!

A Christmas Canvas ...

No blogging for a couple of weeks and now 2 in 2 days!!! woo hoo!!!
I made this canvas to put up as a Christmas decoration ... using some 'pages' from a Kaisercraft album (Christmas Ornaments) for my photos! Cool eh?!
I painted my12x12 canvas with some red acrylic paint and then painted on some silver acrylic paint then rubbed most of it off and left just enough to give it a hint of silver.
I have used the gorgeous LYB Christmas Delight Papers, which are gorgeous and thick. Using the LYB Christmas Morning-Gifts Galore for a base, I cut several strips of different papers to use across the middle of the paper, LYB Merry Bright Bands & Chestnut Carols and LYB Delightful Dots. The final strip is some  Bazzill Kraft which I punched out using my gorgeous MS lattice punch.  I have also cut out some gifts from LYB All-Wrapped Up for layering with the other gifts already on the bottom of the base paper.
After adding the extra cut out gifts (some with 3d tape) I finished off with a strip of My2Angels Red Acrylic Chain with Rhinestones. I then inked up some of my title, the Scrapware Antique Alphas and 4 Holly Photo Anchors then gave them both a good coat of trusty Crackle Accent. I also crackled the little bird and the rest of my title which is a diecut and some BG letter stickers from my stash.
Now for the most important part, the photos, I stuck them onto the ornaments which I had in my stash from last year! (another unfinished project!!!)  when they were well and truly dry I cut out around the ornaments with my craft knife and sanded the edges! sooo happy with the finished look. I ‘tied’ them on my LO with some My2Angels Gold Satin Ribbon with Gold Stars and stuck the holly on next to the photos with some red ‘berry’ brads! Finally I used some Kindy Glitz, Perfect Pearls (mixed with some Mod Podge) and Liquid Pearls to decorate my gifts (I think all that Kindy Glitz and all other things glittery that Corrina has been using on her cards recently has finally rubbed off on me lol!!!).
When my page was dry I stuck it on to my painted canvas using double sided tape and hung it on my wall! Voilà, my first Christmas decoration ... now for the pesky tree with ALL those branches to assemble!! :(
Oh and guess what I managed to get a photo of at the weekend ?? my other son in a Santa Hat .... typical!!!
Thanks for looking!

4 weeks today .....

... it will be Christmas Day!! Does that freak you out?!?!?!? It does me!!!! I am sooooo not it in the least bit organised!!! I have been sooooo busy at work that I haven't had much time to do anything let alone scrap or blog but I have managed a couple of Christmas LO's for my2angels, one of which I am going to share today!

This is my DS sat under our Christmas Tree for the usual obligatory photo I take each year on Christmas eve! A kind of 'Christmas Tradition' ....
I have used some of my absolute favourite papers on here, Basic Grey!! which Tracy was kind enough to order in for us. I have always loved BG papers, I can spot them a mile off in the LSS, and this Jovial range is just gorgeous. All the papers match and coordinate so well, it's so easy to mix and match and the leftover bits are just perfect for your Christmas cards.
(I have an idea on that to share another time!!)

I’ve used the Pomegrante as my base and then cut up the Frosted Window and Merry Maker into some strips, I pleated up one piece and added some red satin ribbon with white swirls. The tree is from my stash but Tracy has Scapware trees that could be used instead. I gave the tree and the Scrapware Holly Photo Anchors a combination of treatments, including Perfect Pearls in Kiwi and Rust (for the ‘baubles’) and Glimmer Mist in Honeydew and Starfish and then added Diamond Dust to the leaves.  For full instructions see the my2angels blog post HERE
The flower is cut from the BG Nordic paper.
For my title I used a combination of Thickers Daiquiri, Jenni Bowlin Circle Alphas in Reverse Black and Reverse Red and some Rusty Pickle Alphas.
The journaling circle is from the LYB Christmas Delight Journal Tablet and I’ve also added a my2angels cross charm next to my title.

Well its been a while I know .... but I hope? it was worth the wait ... thanks for looking guys!
Oh and a BIG .... Happy Birthday to my DS .... 14 today .... love ya babe!!!

Gutter Mesh & Design Team Call

You know how I said a little while ago that I was having fun with some gutter mesh?? well here are some cards I have recently made using it and some ripped cardboard .... its great for boys cards but still pretty enough for girls when you add a flower and some pearls!! and its really easy to attach, you just staple it on!! Too easy!!!
I've also used some my2angels products ..... the frangipani flower
As you can see I love to personalise my cards!!

Lastly .... no mesh and cardboard for this one, just some embossing and some gorgeous Websters flower ribbon with pearls in the centres and of course a gorgeous photo of my favourite model Miss T ... Happy 10th Birthday babe!
(Edit: much as I would love her to be my DD she actually belongs to one of my very good friends LOL! but yes, Julie, she is very beautiful!!!)

I will soon have my 1st Christmas DT project to share using some gorgeous Basic Grey Jovial papers which are now available at my2angels
Here is a tiny sneaky .....
Also if you would like to join us at my2angels we currently have a call out for 1 or 2 new members for our Design Team! (Australian residents only!)
So if you think you would be interested check out all the details HERE (1st Nov post)
Tracy is absolutely awesome to work for and I have enjoyed every minute working with her and the rest of the team!!
Thanks for looking .... you know I really do appreciate it xx
Till next time ....

Camel Train

This month at My2Angels we have had the very talented Melinda Spinks as the Guest Desiginer for the month and she kindly designed a sketch for us to play with ... check out the M2A blog for other versions .... but here is my take! Firstly though ... I apologise for the photos I took them in artificial light and they are not the best!! Take that back I have changed them .... much more realistic colours now!!!

I didn’t have any Halloween photos to scrap but I did want to use Halloween colours as they matched my photo!!
I’ve used Core’dinations Nightfall and Orange (pumpkin coloured!) cardstock and some spotted Rusty Pickle Paper ... very sad that RP is no more!! I cut the orange card to A4 size so I could put it through my printer to print the palm tree image I found on the internet!  I then attached it to my Nightfall card together with some pieces of the spotted paper tucked behind the card. I’ve also used the same paper as my strip across the page (as on the sketch).
And as all the photos I have scrapped this month have been from our recent holiday I have again chopped up my photo! this time into three pieces! I have also used another gorgeous My2Angels Frangipani flower (as in my last LO) to try and carry a theme through my album!!  Sliced photos and flowers LOL!!!
The title is Scrapware Antique Lowercase Alpha, which I have stamped and covered with a light coat of Tim Holtz Rock Candy just for a slightly shiny effect. I’ve also used some of my favourite alphas, Jenni Bowlin Tiny Circle Alphas and Thickers Daiquiri! Both these alphas get used ALL the time!!! To finish off I used a My2Angels Black Rhinestone Flourish, a Smiley Sun Charm and some white Ric Rac. Oh and my journalling is on Bazzill Kraft!
I hope you like .... TFL and for anyone who is kind enough to leave a comment .... thanks again!!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend! and Happy Halloween!!

No Clouds only Sunshine ...

The intense blue of the sky on these photos gave me the idea for the title for this LO and for any of my regular readers you must know how much I LOVE using clouds!!!
I ordered this October Afternoon Seaside Seashells paper for the gorgeous banners, but when I received my order I fell in love with the reverse of the paper ... a red woodgrain effect which matched Sam's rashie and the red of the rocks behind him perfectly! And being a plank effect it still has the desired beachy feel.
I put a strip of the My2Angels Black Stars Felt Ribbon across the page and then positioned my photos above the felt. I've 3D taped the large photo and the middle one of the 3 for dimension.  The cloud is from Scrapware (and the smaller one is a left over of some B&B ones I had) I have inked the large cloud with VersaMagic Jumbo Java Brown ink and Mel I get through this ink like you do with Pinecone ... although not in the same way I might add!!!
I love these new Thickers that Tracy got in a little while ago, Emerald in flocked Hay and flocked Seafoam which I have used for my ‘Clouds’ and ‘Sunshine’ and of course I couldn't do a LO without using some Jenni Bowlin Tiny Circle Aphas in both Reverse Black and Vintage Brown!!!
When we were in Broome there were frangipani trees everywhere which were really pretty,so what better way to give my LO a bit of a tropical look, than by adding some My2Angels Yellow and White Frangipanis.
Finally I have added a Whimsy bird pin and stapled on some pieces of gutter mesh ... yes good old pvc gutter mesh!! I have a bit of a liking for it at the moment .... I have also used it on some cards I just made too!!! It's especially cool for boy cards!!!
Thanks for looking as always ... catch you soon!
