Helpful Cougar Boys!

I have just realised I missed by blog's birthday!!! I can't believe it is a year since I started it .... it has been a great year and I have made some great online friends so I would just like to say a BIG thank you to everyone who has read and left comments on my little blog over this first year, I really appreciate your support and hope it will continue for a long time to come!! :)

Now back to some scrapping stuff ... the theme at my2angels this month is 'Boys at Play'  so here is what I came up with for my first share! 

Back at the beginning of the football season we had a practice game and afterwards my 2 boys and our under 14’s managers little boy decided to ‘help’ out fetching in the goal posts! And as luck would have it I just happened to have my camera handy and grabbed this really cool photo!!   

I have used white core’dinations cardstock with some Sassafras Lass and October Afternoon papers in bluey greens to match our team colours. I have also used a piece of corrugated card (from a box some wine came in!!) and inked the edges to also match the team colours.

I have used a my2angels rhinestone circle to highlight the cheeky boy diving on the posts and my title/journaling comprises of Thickers Daiquiri,  Jenni Bowlin mini circle letters, a my2angels ‘love’ charm (sanded back to silver colour) and Sassafras Glitter alphas. 

The ‘Go Team Go’ , ‘play hard’, ‘spirit’ and ‘skill’ are SRM Stickers, ‘Reinforcement s Team’  which are excellent value! I stuck them onto card and hand or die cut around them so I could 3d some of them. The gorgeous silver camera is a my2angels charm and I’ve added a few aqua pearls to finish off.

You are the BEST!!! It was my birthday on the weekend and I was totally spoilt!!! Lots of plotting went on and to say I was blown away with all the surprises was an understatement!!

My2Angels Blog Hop!!

my2angels Relay Challenge .... Pinwheels!

Well today is my day for the relay ... thanks to Katrina & Kath for their fabulous entries for Team 3 on Monday and Tuesday!!! and good luck to Vicki and Samantha for the next two days!!

A brief explanation .... my2angels is having a scrap relay (previous post) and all the entrants have been split into 3 teams and we've each been allocated a day on which to complete a layout using certain criteria on the layout! Monday was presents, Tuesday was cupcakes and Wednesday (me) was 'Pinwheels' and this is what I came up with ....

My baby's 11th Birthday 

The idea was to make the pinwheels appear as if they were being blown away ... hope it worked!?!?

Happy Birthday My2Angels!!!

More Kraft!

I have developed a real liking for this Kraft ... it inks and dry embosses SO well, especially love it for boy pages. For this LO of Sam on the beach at Hillarys I have mixed the Kraft with some BG Basics  .......

The brick embossing is done using the new Tim Holtz Texture Fades which are sooooo cool!

Sorry to say ...

... these are the last of my black and white LO's for My2Angels for this month!! :(

I have had such a great time with this combo that I am sorry it has to finish!!

BUT don't worry we've got some good stuff happening over at My@Angels in August so watch this space!!!!

LO #1 ... DS #2 just being his ultra cool self ... he definitely is 'My Little Dude'!

Using a pack of Core’dinations all in the family fade to black cardstock  (these packs are awesome value!) I’ve used white, black and grey cardstock together with a blue card from the Aqua Blues pack. I cut up strips of the white, black and blue card which I weaved to create a panel which I then mounted on more black card. As with most of my LO's I start with an idea and then just play and fiddle until the pieces come together (or I change it totally LOL!!). But this one worked out ... I used some Imaginisce To Love Cherish Katherine paper (reverse side) my newly made 'panel' and some extra strips of the cardstocks to ‘frame’ my photo. 

I added little off cuts of the card randomly on the strips and added ‘Chill Out’ and ‘Cool’ from the My2Angels Ribbon to two pieces of card and mounted them on 3D tape. I have also used the small B&B mirrored hearts from the Love & Kisses and 2 buttons and 1 photo corner which I have covered in a white enamel. The title is Rusty Pickle and Jenni Bowlin Circle Alphas.

Such a shame Buzz & Bloom are no more as these mirror hearts are so cool.

LO #2 ... DS #1 - this photo was taken at one of his football games and I got to thinking ... that come rain or shine he plays footy on a Saturday morning! And come rain or shine we go to watch him!! (and love every minute!!) He plays #6 (in fact both of them play #6!!) and they have done for a few years now so I have included that little fact in my title! 

Again I used a Core’dinations All In the Family Fade to Black cardstock pack, white for the background and some black for a side panel. I used Bo Bunny Mama Razzi Aperature (dark side) as a strip down the side and to mount my cut out photo on, together with a strip of left over Websters Lifes Portrait Reflections from last months DT pack. I mounted my photo onto white cardstock and inked the edges in the colours of my LO. 

I punched a border on the Websters paper and have then added my title discreetly on the spots of the paper using Jenni Bowlin Tiny Circles alpha (a new fav of mine and the colour matched perfectly!). I’ve used both a black and a brown of this alpha and added some brackets and a #4 from AC Thickers Jewelry Box black alpha. The brackets I put around the ‘6’ on the Jenni Bowlin Adore Bingo Card. 

To finish I added some Buzz & Bloom clouds, lightly rubbed with white ink, a painted chipboard sun and rain drops cut from some left over Mama Razzi paper. There are no Buzz & Bloom clouds left in stock but Tracy has recently re stocked the Scrapware clouds which are equally as gorgeous! Kraft it Up!

I got around to doing the Kraft it Up! challenge this month, criteria was a multi photo LO (4 or more) so I scrapped these gorgeous photos of one of my friends daughters ...remember Miss K well this is her older sister, the gorgeous Miss T .. thanks babe I just love these photos xx

Scrap the boys!

Just a quick post to share a LO I did for Scrap the Boys .... the criteria was to use stamps somewhere on your LO. I used a Kaisercraft stamp, Kraft cardstock & some Pink Paislee papers (yum!) oh and one of my fav embellies .. chippy cogs!!!

Eleven ... (& 12 goals for Lecca!!)

Now I think I've mentioned how much I am loving this months theme at My2Angels ?!?! LOL!! I could scrap this colour scheme ALL the time! So here is my 2nd LO which I posted a sneaky of in my last post, it is a gorgeous 'black & white' photo of my ‘ELEVEN’ year old and it is using a paper I actually picked and ordered for the other side (black patterned) but I really loved this side with the clocks that I just had to find a way to use it! 

I'm hoping I've done this 'ever-so-slightly-vintage' style justice?!

and will be published in Scapbooking Memories VOL 13 No 4 due out in March 2011!
I have left you a little sneaky below though!

I've used Core-dinations Black cardstock and the gorgeous Collage Press Scrooge Marley The Counting House paper, I cut off a strip of the paper and then cut out the clocks. I put strips of red cardstock and some red ribbon down the edges of the paper to match the red around the clocks. Then using 3D tape I put the clocks back on leaving a ‘shadow’ gap. 

The little clock face is something I picked up at a craft fair last year, cute eh?! 

 

I’ve used some Black and Red Mulberry flowers and Black Plaid Brads and partially hidden them behind the clocks together with a Key and Follow your Heart charm.

The gorgeous Scrapware Penny Farthing Bicycle, I sprayed with Raven Glimmer Mist (but coloured the seat red) and then finished it off using Inkssentials Crackle Accent and some Black Pearls. 

My title is a combination of Thickers Black Daiquiri alphas and the Jenni Bowlin Tiny Circle Alphas which I really, love at the moment! (they will be back in stock in the store later this week!)

Oh and I had the best day yesterday ..... in the morning my eldest son's footy team beat the undefeated top of the ladder team .... great win Cougars!!! and as some of my blogger friends have done before me ... a little shout out to my 'AFL' footy team ....... Lecca you are a legend!! TWELVE!!! goals what a star!!! great win West Coast  

.... now if only we could get OFF the bottom of the ladder!!!

Adore ... this boy!

Hi, at my2angels this month our theme is 'Black & White' with a touch of colour, and anyone who visits my blog regularly knows how much I LOVE black, so I am just loving this theme! So, being the school holidays, on Tuesday I spent the day with my buddy Corrina and we scrapped up a M2A storm! We haven't been able to do that in quite a while (Becky Fleck day excluded!) so it was just great to spend some quality 'scrap time' together!!! With lots of chatting and drinking coffee too of course!!! We are so lucky, our kids get on together really well, so we had a pretty uninterrupted day ... it was great! and she wouldn't let me leave until I had finished two LO's .. which I managed to do ...just!!! thanks so much for a great day buddy!! 

So here is my 1st take for the month ... the photo is a couple of years old now, Feb 2008, when he was only 8 going on 9, he was sat in a play tube at Kings Park on an absolutely scorching day .... close to 40 degrees if I remember right!!! and what was I doing? well I had my new camera and was chasing them around for photos!!! LOL!!! Mama Razzi!!!!

I've used black cardstock which I doodled around and then machine stitched a 'patchwork' of pp's together and included some green card as my touch of colour! I've also added some my2angels bling and some other goodies from the store. The star is an idea I 'lifted' from Corrina, (her butterfly) cutting up some M2A felt (which is on special this month) and backing it will card to make your own embellies! Love the mirror 'XOX' from Buzz and Bloom on here ... so shiny!!!

Eclipse, a LO and some cards!

Yay! School holidays and a few days off work!! It has been a long 2nd term (11 weeks) so we are all really in need of a break in routine for a couple of weeks. And to top off a great weekend Corrina, her girls and myself went to 'La Premiere' last night to see 'Eclipse' ... great movie ... a glass of bubbly ... comfy seats and excellent company = a great night out! Although it was a little chilly (no make that a lot chilly!!!)  when we had to walk out into the cold at midnight .... in our record breaking cold snap here in Perth!!! Brrrrrr! 

Anyway ... for the month of July, our theme at my2angels is black & white, however the last LO I did for June (which I am finally getting around to posting!) fits the July theme already! But not to worry, I don't think I am going to find it too hard to do more for this month .... seeing as it is one of my favourite colour combos!!

So here is my last June LO ... Special (girl)! Thanks Miss 'T', I promise I will scrap your gorgeous fairy photos soon! x
